Dear Church Family,
Spring has officially sprung on the calendar. As I write today, I am just wrapping up Spring Break. We have gotten to enjoy some wonderful outdoor adventures, including exploring some of our local parks, hiking, and attending the Houston rodeo for the first time with my family.
As Spring begins we are several weeks into a new season at First Methodist. We are settling into new Sunday rhythms on our Downtown Campus. Children (ages birth – 4th grade) are adjusting to their new space in the The Park on the 1st floor, students (ages 5th-12th grade) are settling into the Cafe and Lounge spaces on the 6th floor, and adults are enjoying their new spaces on the 4th floor. Altar Umoja held their first worship service Downtown last Sunday on the 2nd floor (where they will meet again this week), and our Traditional and Modern services continue meeting together in the sanctuary at 11:00 a.m.
This Sunday, we will continue building on the momentum we are experiencing. Come early to enjoy prayer in Bintliff Chapel or in the Prayer Garden. Then enjoy the fellowship time on the 4th floor beginning at 9:30 a.m. After worship, we not only will have a gathering in front of The Park and our usual time for communion and prayer in the chapel, we will be also be meeting in the Fellowship Hall to decorate and fill STAAR Bags. It will be a wonderful Sunday you will not want to miss!
I can’t wait to see you all Downtown on Sunday morning!
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Lance
