First Methodist Houston Women’s Ministry is a group that helps women stay connected to God, build relationships, and grow in faith. If you are interested in joining our ministry please do not hesitate to email us on how you can join and be apart of our church family. We have several groups and activities you can be a part of in the women’s ministry.
Book Club
Women come together on the first Wednesday of each month in homes to discuss a book that has been selected at least one month in advance.
DIVAS (Divinely Inspired Victorious and Serving)
Meeting on Zoom on Mondays @ 4:00 pm
In-depth Bible study with study guides and lively discussion. Mission-minded with a focus on service beyond the church walls. Open to women of all ages.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
This small group of ladies from both campuses serve the Lord by sharing their talent of crocheting (and knitting) shawls to give to those in need. Although this project can be done at home, periodic meetings and classes are available to get you started and maintain your interest.
The Sewing Connection
Come share your sewing expertise with our sewing group. It will be a great time of fellowship and connection while working on purposeful projects. Sewing Connection meets on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the 6th floor at our Downtown campus.
Tuesday Bible Study
We meet each Tuesday from 12PM – 1PM, in the Fellowship Hall of our Downtown Campus. Bible studies are selected by leading teachers like Max Lucado, Rick Warren, Priscilla Shirer and others. Lunch is available for $10 or you are welcome to bring your own. All are welcome to join.
United Women Of Faith (formerly United Methodist Women)
United Women in Faith seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities. The Church Circle at FMH meets the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 in the Lifeline Room. Meetings center around mission projects.
Women Of The Word (W.O.W)
Led by Adrienne Young and Merrilyn Echols W.O.W. is a group of women of all ages that study a variety of Biblical topics and engages with current events that are meaningful in our lives. It is primarily a discussion-based class. Each week we share prayer requests via e-mail and would love to hear from you! Meetings are held at the West Campus at 10:00 on Sundays.
