Scripture:
Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord, is at hand.
– James 5:7-8
The above passage says the word “patient” 3 times. Waiting with patience is hard. In the passage from James, the author tells us to establish our hearts for the coming of the Lord. What does this look like? Ask God today what you should do to establish your heart as we prepare to receive Jesus.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, I want to wait on You with patience, preparing my heart for your coming. I want to bring Your Kingdom to the earth, and I know I must listen to Your guidance to be a powerful disciple. Help me listen to You with patience so I may prepare my heart.
