Scripture:
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on who his favor rests.”
– Luke 2: 13-14 (NIV)
The declaration from the heavens is that peace has come to earth. Jesus is called The Prince of Peace. However, we are bombarded daily with messages that reveal the lack of peace in this world. If we aren’t careful, so many negative words can affect us. Faith is believing in what we do not see. We know that Jesus has conquered the world. He implores us to be courageous. (John 16:33) Today, let’s ponder what might be stealing our sense of peace. Name them before God and allow the Prince of Peace to calm your heart and mind.
Prayer:
Gracious God, it’s difficult to maintain a sense of peace when the world is acting as if there is no such thing. However, we know that perfect peace rests in YOU. Help us to sing with the heavenly hosts about the promise of Your peace. Please let me feel it in my heart and help me to share it with others.
