Scripture:
We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God; we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
– 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NASB)
Anxiety, worry, and fear are the product of thoughts not captive to the obedience of Christ. How do we capture our thoughts and force them into submission to Christ? In 2 Kings 19, the Assyrians wrote a letter to King Hezekiah to instill fear in his heart. They told him to surrender because God would not protect Jerusalem. King Hezekiah seized the letter, spread it out before the Lord, and prayed. If the enemy plants a thought of unworthiness, discouragement, or self-doubt that makes you feel unworthy in the eyes of God, seize that thought immediately and place it at God’s feet. Remember who you are. You were paid for with the life of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. God will listen to all your concerns.
Prayer:
Father God, our worth is based on You and not in this world. Instill in us the Christ confidence needed to do the work You assigned. Help us see that we are loved with a love too immense to measure.
