Scripture:

We often can’t control what happens to us, but we can control our response. We can ask God to help us praise Him in each situation that comes our way. Tell God the things you are thankful for, even any difficult circumstances in which your find yourself. Rely on God’s strength and not your own, and offer your praise to Him.
Prayer:
Dear God, we ask for forgiveness when we have complained, instead of offering gratitude in hard situations. We know that difficult circumstances build our reliance on You. Today, I am thankful for _________. Help me to live in an attitude of thankfulness.
