Day 58

Scripture:
And in the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and prayed there for a time. – Mark 1:35 (NASB)
After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.
– Matthew 14:23 (NASB)

Never allow your schedule to supersede having alone time with God. Hunger for time with Him before you begin the day. Make it part of your daily spiritual discipline. If the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, removed Himself from the crowd to be alone with the Father, how much more should we?

In God’s presence, you will receive the peace and calm needed before you begin the day. He reveals daily that you are standing before the God who created the world and all that is in it. He knows the beginning and the end, nothing is too difficult for Him. When you have that insight, you can conquer anything, and a hectic schedule is no longer daunting.

Prayer:
Father God, cause me to hunger daily for time alone with You. Place a feeling of restlessness in me when I do not receive my fill of You before I begin my day. Guide my insights and shape my decisions, so I may be fruitful throughout the day.
