Encouragement can take many different forms; the Year of Prayer is such for me. Last September when we began our Year Of Prayer, I enjoyed getting the “personal” daily email that was an invitation to join my Church Family in the reading of scripture and prayer. On Day of Prayer 122 (January 1, 2022) when Omicron started spreading and ushering us into year 3 of the Pandemic, my hopes of returning in person to church with my suppressed immune system was dampened. Now I eagerly anticipate the church coming to me in my inbox. Whether in person or virtual, we can be connected.
A fellow believer and I started discussing the daily reading and what it meant to us. Our friendship has strengthened by these discussions just as my relationship and bonding has with our corporate FUMC Family. In addition, our Zoom Sunday School prayed the weekly prayer. I praise God for the team and their commitment to bring God’s word into our private homes this year. – Evon Peterson
