Scripture: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” – John 5:24
The Gospels tell stories of a rich, young ruler who wouldn’t give up his wealth, and a tax collector who gave back twice what he had taken. One walked away from Jesus, and the other one entertained Jesus in his home, changed his life and became a follower. “Both had the Son of God standing right in front of them. The difference was that one saw how much he had to lose. The other saw how much he had to gain.” (90 Days with Jesus)
Both stories and the verse for today center on trusting Jesus. Listen to His word and believe in God. If you find yourself struggling in your faith, examine how you are doing with both.
Prayer: Jesus, I love You. I recommit myself to listening to Your word and acting upon it in faith. Thank You for giving me eternal life.
Petition: For God to bless the children who attended Vacation Bible School last week. That He would grow what was sown and watered in their souls and protect them from evil.
