Scripture:
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
– 1 Corinthian 10:23 – 24 (NIV)
After we receive the grace made possible through the blood that Jesus shed on the cross, we can experience true freedom. Then, as followers of Christ, we must consider whether our lawful actions are beneficial and constructive even if they are permissible. A Christian’s standard should be the same as Jesus, to glorify God. As we make daily decisions, let’s ask the question, “Do my actions glorify God and build up others?”
Prayer: Father, thank You for the freedom and liberty that you offer in Christ. Guide me to use this freedom wisely. May this liberty be used to strengthen others and glorify You.
Petition: That we will seek the good of others before seeking our own gain.
