Scripture:
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

Throughout Scripture, we see that one attribute which the Lord detests is pride. Ask the Lord to break your spirit of independence and give you a spirit of humility. Ask Him to give you a contrite heart so that you will be able to discern His voice and know His will.
Prayer: Lord, I lay my heart and mind before You today. Rid me of every trace of pride and replace it with a humble and meek spirit that I may recognize Your voice and discern Your will for my life. Help me to recognize the areas of my life that You are calling to account. Help me take responsibility and seek forgiveness. I want to reflect You and not myself.
Petition: For us to be humble and teachable as the Lord is leading us to discern His will for our church.
