Scripture:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
– 1 John 1:7-9 (ESV)
To be right with God, we should confess our sins and believe what God says that, “He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Jesus died for our sins once and for all, and yet we continue to stumble. Un-acknowledge sin (i.e., unconfessed) remains a barrier between us and God. In order to walk in the light and have fellowship with each other, we must confess our sins. Doesn’t it sound wonderful to walk in the light and fellowship with each other? What do you need to confess today so that light and fellowship are increased in your life and community?
Prayer:
Jesus, we confess there are things in our lives that hold us back from walking in the light. Rid us of those sins by Your power and Your grace. Make us holy, as You are holy, that we may walk in light and fellowship. We are listening to Your voice and as we breathe in, we know Your Holy Spirit is filling our bodies, minds and souls.
