Day 293

Scripture:

Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law, they meditate day and night.

– Psalm 1:1-2

Where do you seek counsel? Do you prioritize expediency or character in those you solicit advice from? It can be difficult to live in this world and not be of this world. We are called to be the salt of the earth. True joy comes when we put our focus on God and strive to keep His words at top of mind. Meditate on God’s word, ruminate on His love for you, and look for His presence throughout the day.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, help me hunger for Your ways and for the counsel of Your word. Help me apply Your word to my life so that I may bear good fruit. Thank you, Jesus, for the light You shine in the darkness and the joy Your word brings.

Petition: For the Lord to give us wisdom and insight as we continue seeking Him together. For God to give each person in our congregation a desire to use their gifts in service to Him.
