Day 266

Scripture:

Be angry, but sin not; commune with your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.

– Psalms 4:4

It is not only possible to be angry and not sin, but scripture instructs us in this manner. The next time you feel anger rise inside of you, commit to “commune with your own heart” and be silent. The Lord will guide you how to proceed. Where is your anger coming from? Is it something you need to deal with in your heart before expressing it and resolving it with another?

Prayer: Holy Spirit, when I feel anger welling up inside, help me remember this verse. Give me the discipline and resolve to bring my emotions to You. Please guide my thoughts and feelings in a manner that reveals the deeper work that You are doing in me. Allow me to bring my anger to You, so that You may appropriate it to work out Your will in my life and in my ministry to others.

Petition: For our Family Ministry staff, Mandy Jones and Courtney Hutchins, they may be strengthened and encouraged for their work with our children and youth. For them to be protected from evil and be drawn into God’s presence each day. For God to lead us to the right person to serve as our Youth Director for the Downtown Campus.
