Scripture:
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails, and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
– Habakkuk 3:17-18
Even when nothing seems to be working, we can still rejoice in the Lord. It is freeing to know that our joy is not determined by our prosperity. Our joy is in the Lord alone and we can choose to be joyful in Him. If you aren’t experiencing joy with regularity, it may be time to change your focus from externals to the spiritual internal soul that governs the emotion of each day.
Prayer: Father, my joy is in You alone. If I have You, I have everything. Help me remember whether things are going well or going crazy, that my joy in You.
Petition: For Amanda Davis, our Executive Pastor. For God to encourage and sustain her and give her wisdom as she leads. That she will find joy in her relationship with Christ. For supernatural rest and protection for Amanda and for her husband Alex and children Ashley and Aiden.
