Scripture:
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

What would the church be like if every member followed Paul’s advice to the church at Ephesus? What if each of us were to practice humbleness, patience, gentleness, and were to bear with each other in love? According to Paul, there would be a unity of the Spirit and a bond of peace. What a beautiful proposition. We can enjoy peace and unity if we chose to practice these disciplines, asking God to help us.
Prayer:
Dear God, I pray to be filled with humility, gentleness and patience. I pray to be a disciple that bears with my fellow humans in love, carrying their burdens and understanding their afflictions. Help me to exercise discipline in these areas. Fill me with Your peace and the Holy Spirit as I walk in a manner worthy of Your calling on my life.
