Scripture:
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
– Isaiah 53:4
As we enter Holy Week, ask the Holy Spirit to give you a deeper understanding of your need for redemption. Reflect on the passage, word by word. Share your pain and unburden yourself from suffering. Revel in the knowledge that He already bore the weight of our struggle.
Prayer: Father, help me understand my sin. Give me the courage, to be honest before You. I give you my pain and sufferings (list them one by one).
Petition: For each church member to encounter God in a deeper way this week. For God to soften our hearts to see our sin. That we desire God more than we desire to be right, in control, or protect our images.
