Day 220

Scripture:

For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So, we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
– 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Perspective is everything. Keep your eyes set on things above and the struggles of this day will be kept in proper perspective. Struggle produces glory when we allow God to use it to purify us. Instead of trying to avoid or medicate when we encounter strife, let’s remember that we are living for something bigger, and let’s trust God for what we don’t understand.

Prayer: Name your struggles before God. Ask Him to change your perspective and confess your trust and dependence on Him for what you don’t yet see.

Petition: For our new pastor, Lance Richards, and his family. That they are protected from evil and encouraged by God’s leading hand. For God to reveal His vision to them and go ahead of them as they resettle in Houston. For God to bind them together as a family.
