Day 22

“We should be rigorous in judging ourselves and gracious in judging others.”
― John Wesley

Scripture:
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.

– Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)

How is your heart? Are you anxious with the burdens of the day? Sit before the Father with a quiet disposition. Ask Him to search your heart and thoughts and reveal them to you as you journey through this day. When you speak to your family, co-workers, school friends, strangers – are there offensive ways in you? Are you critical, judgmental, prideful, demanding your own way? Confess these things as the Holy Spirit reveals them. Don’t make excuses. Repent and let Your father free your soul.

Prayer:
God, I need you. I am afraid to see the things in me that are not like You. I prefer to blame others and hide from my sin. Search me today and show me the areas that are offensive and sinful. Help me to listen as You show me when I offend you and those you have called me to love. I need you.
