Scripture:
I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.
– Philippians 3:10-11
Do you long to know Christ in this way? Paul craved a deep abiding love and intimacy with God that we might have trouble imagining. The price to know the power of His resurrection is to participate in His sufferings. It is an act of will, not an emotion, that brings us to desire Christ in this way. Ask Him to give you the desire to know Him in a more intimate way, trusting that there is nothing better in this life.
Prayer: Jesus, I long to know You as Paul knew You. I long to know the power of Your resurrection and will participate in Your sufferings. I long to be so close with You that I feel what You feel. Reveal Yourself to me and help me discipline myself to listen for Your voice.
Petition: For our Communications Ministry. For Ben Wyman and his team as they work to communicate the ministries of the church and the message of the Gospel through new mediums. That they will be encouraged, inspired, and focused. That they will be alert, creative and that God will bless them with more knowledge and revelation of Himself.
