Day 216

Scripture:

Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD, “Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

– 2 Kings 20:2-3 (NASB)

Have you ever received news that hurt you so deeply it brought you to your knees? Have you cried so hard it felt like there were no tears left? Did you believe you were serving God faithfully and doing what He wanted you to do? Why would He allow this suffering to happen?

God understands you are hurting. Suffering does not mean you have failed. It is the opportunity to know God with deeper intimacy. Hezekiah responded to his most painful moment with prayer. He wept bitterly in the presence of God. God will provide comfort in His own timing. Your job is to keep trusting Him.

Prayer: Father, when there are no words, but only tears, we are safe in Your presence. Thank You for comforting us even though we don’t understand. We trust You.

Petition: For Port Houston Elementary (near NIA). For each child to be physically and emotionally protected. For them to excel in understanding their studies and for the school to be a safe place for them to thrive. For the teachers and administrators to be encouraged and strengthened as they lead. For them to grow in love and knowledge of God.
