Scripture:
“Since I am afflicted and needy, let the Lord be mindful of me, you are my help and my deliverer, do not delay oh my God.”
— Psalm 40:17
David wrote many psalms from deep and raw emotions. The feelings he expressed so eloquently are not foreign to us. When David was overjoyed, he praised God. When he was in deep distress, he cried out to Him. God was his counselor. David lived in God’s presence with his heart exposed. When you don’t know how to express your pain, David is an example. Immerse yourself in the book of Psalms and you will learn.
Prayer: Father, our praise stems from deep within our hearts. Whether visited by joy or sadness, our lips will speak Your praise. You hear our prayers and we rejoice.
