Scripture:
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
— 1 Peter 5:8
When lions get old, they lose their teeth. They roar to scare prey because they are “toothless.” We have an enemy that is toothless. The intent of the roar is to terrify but there is really nothing to fear. An alert and sober mind knows not to fear the roar but be mindful of the growl. Don’t be afraid. Jesus has already overcome death.
Prayer: Lord, grant us wisdom and courage that we may show your love without self-concerned fear.
Petition: For our custodial staff to know God’s great love for them. For them to be blessed and prosper. For them to know how important their role is to the ministry of the church. For them to be encouraged and desire to do their work as unto the Lord.
