Day 196

Scripture:

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.”

— James 5:16 (NASB)

When we think about the word ‘confession,’ we tend to imagine confessing to the Lord. Of course, this is valid. However, taking the next step by confessing our sins to one another codifies the experience in a way that allows us to heal. Do elements of your life need to be healed? Are there sins in your life you need to confess to a trusted brother or sister? The prayer of a righteous person is effective.

Prayer: Lord, give me courage to confess my sins to a friend. Show me who that might be. Help me desire You more than the pride that keeps me from being transparent and vulnerable. I need You, Lord.

Petition: For the Quillian Memorial Ministry of our church. For the staff to be encouraged and strengthened to serve God and serve the children and families in their care. For the children and families to be drawn to Christ and connect with discipleship opportunities to help them grow spiritually.
