Scripture:
“Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!”
– Psalm 130:1-2
In a book about Prayer it is written, “Sometimes I rest relaxed in God’s care. Sometimes I thrash and tremble, like holding my son during seizures.” It’s easy to feel good when we are relaxed in God’s care and in our prayer time. However, sometimes our lives seem out of control and we, like the author, thrash around, unable to relax and stay calm in His presence. We cry out for His help. The good news is that God is with us when we are relaxed or when we thrash around. His Word tells us that He hears our cries and will, in His perfect timing, respond to our needs. No matter what state you are in today, rest assured that God hears you.
Prayer: God, there are times that I feel so confident in Your presence. There are other times I hardly know what to do with myself because the pain is so severe. Today, I rest on Your unfailing love and in Your word I put my hope.
