Scripture:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
– Isaiah 43: 18-19
God is always on the move doing a new thing. Are we tapped into it or stuck in old visions? He is creating a new path. Let us follow the new paths in the wilderness and wastelands and see what He will do. This year, ask God to help us let go of the things in the past, the parts of “church” that may have become idols. Let us work to keep our minds on Him and recognize His opportunities for the future of His church.
Prayer: Holy God, forgive us for having our eyes fixed on the past and not on You. Allow us to perceive the new things You are doing, to see the new paths you have put before us. Help us trust You and Your guidance into the future for Your church.
