Scripture:
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit; for apart from Me, you can do nothing.”
– John 15:5 (NASB)
To remain means to continue to exist in a place; to stay put; to not leave. Jesus told His followers if we “remain” in Him, we will bear much fruit. God loves us so much that He wants us to remain connected to the vine, to our Lord Jesus Christ. Then His power and strength will flow through us. When we sever our tie from the vine, we no longer bear fruit. There is work for us in order to “stay put and not leave” our communion with Christ. Today, think about how you can practice remaining in Christ. If nothing comes to mind, ask the Lord to show you.
Prayer: Lord, help me stay connected to You every minute of the day. I know apart from You, I will produce nothing of value. I want Your life and love to flow through me.
