Scripture:
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”
– Psalm 127:1
If we labor for God in our own strength, we will find ourselves building our own kingdom. We are servants of the Lord, so let us be cautious about relying on common sense and worldly understanding. As we seek God’s desire for the future of our church, may we be attentive to His plans and methods.
Prayer: Father, this is Your church, and we are Your servants. Keep us from trying to build the church through our own wisdom. Grant us Your thoughts and Your plans. Allow us to remain humble so we can hear Your voice. Build Your church the way that You desire and may First Methodist Houston reflect Your will.
