Day 137

Scripture:
“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”

– 1 John 5:14-15 (NASB)

‘Confidence’ is the assured faith and belief that God hears when we pray. It is the certainty of things hoped for, the proof of the reality of things not yet seen (Heb 11:1). Let confidence in God and in His promises undergird our hearts as we seek Him in prayer today. Don’t forget to thank Him in advance, as John reminds us. We know that we receive answers to our requests because He hears us.

Prayer: Father, thank You for giving us access to Your throne of grace. By virtue of the atoning work of Your Son, we are confident of Your love for us. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for what You will do in the life of Your church.
