Day 122

Scripture:
But when Herod died, behold an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, get up, take the child and His mother and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the child’s life are dead. So Joseph got up, took the child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.

– Matthew 2:19-21 (NAS)

God spoke to Joseph in a dream to let him know that the danger had passed. This was the third time that God spoke to Joseph in this way. Joseph recognized the hand of God and trusted Him so completely, that he was willing to go back to the land where their lives had been savagely threatened. Does our trust in God give us the courage to face life’s challenges unafraid? We need to have such confidence in our relationship with God that we recognize His voice and move directly to obedience when we hear it. Let’s pray for our church as we unite in seeking God’s direction.

Prayer:
Father, give us attentive and humble hearts to hear and obey Your Word. We are grateful that leaders of the past and present are willing to listen and obey. We ask Your direction for Your church and pray for those in leadership who are making decisions. Help them listen for Your instruction and obey Your leading, trusting You for the outcome.
