Scripture:
Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. – James 5:16 (NASB)
Confess and pray together. It is the formula for healing. Before we draw the line on this one, let’s ask God to help us desire this kind of healing. It is tempting to rationalize our sin to ourselves and others. Ask the Lord to give us humble hearts, eyes to see our sin and help to confess before Him and other Christians without excuse, so that our souls may be healed.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, give us the conviction of heart to take responsibility for our sins and confess them before You and others in our community, so that we may be forgiven and healed. Help us each recognize our true motives, admit our sin, and find forgiveness and freedom.
