Scripture:
See, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me, and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight—indeed, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts. But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears?
– Malachi 3:1-2
How are we to prepare the way for the coming Lord? It seems daunting to be tasked with such holy preparation when it’s difficult enough to prepare our own hearts. Thankfully, we serve a God who fills the unprepared space with His very presence. He makes us ready to receive the grace and peace of the Lord. As you prepare for Christmas, ask God to use you to prepare the way for others to receive Him as well.
Prayer:
Lord, as we prepare to celebrate Your birth, help us to fulfill our responsibility to prepare the way for You to reach others.
