Scripture:
“Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say, on the Lord.” – Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
In our fast on demand world, we learn to expect everything now. Patience in waiting is not an attribute we desire. And yet, we are told to wait on the Lord. Have your wondered why? Is it because God can’t move faster? Perhaps there is a bigger purpose for our waiting. When we wait on the Lord in good courage, He strengthens our hearts. Strengthened hearts are something we desire. Learning to wait on the Lord and not rush to make something happen, brings strength and takes away our striving and anxiety. Ask God to help us wait on Him and for His will, in His time.
Prayer:
Lord, help us to wait for You. Help us surrender the anxiety we have created in our personal lives and the anxiety we have for Your church. Teach us to sit with You and wait for You to reveal Yourself to us. We desire You and Your will and not our own. Please strengthen our hearts and Your church as we patiently wait on Your leading. Don’t let us go ahead of You, because we know that outside of Your will and timing, there is strife. We wait before you today.
